Trinity Challenge offers several approaches to counseling, including:

  • Traditional talk therapy (yes, we have an indoor office available)

Our counselors use different therapeutic approaches based on their training, experience, and the needs of each client.

No.

You do not have to work with horses to receive counseling at Trinity Challenge.

Traditional counseling and telehealth counseling are available for clients who prefer a more conventional therapy experience. For clients who are interested, experiential activities and Equine Connected Counseling can provide another way to explore thoughts, emotions, relationships, communication, boundaries, and personal growth.

No.

At Trinity Challenge, Equine Connected Counseling is unmounted. No riding or horse experience is necessary to participate.

Instead, clients interact with horses from the ground through activities involving observation, communication, boundaries, trust, body language, problem-solving, and relationship-building.

Horses aren't a tool for an activity. We connect with out horses as a partner within the therapeutic experience and healing journey.

Every session is different because every client is different.

Depending on your goals, a session may include traditional conversation as well as structured activities involving the horses and the ranch environment.

Activities may help you explore topics such as:

  • Trust and relationships
  • Communication
  • Emotional awareness
  • Boundaries
  • Confidence
  • Self-regulation
  • Problem-solving
  • Leadership
  • Resilience
  • Patterns of behavior

The experience gives you an opportunity to notice what happens in real time rather than simply talking about it.

People seek counseling for many different reasons. You don't necessarily need to have a mental health diagnosis to benefit from counseling.

Depending on the counselor and your individual goals, therapy may address concerns involving:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Emotional regulation
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Relationships
  • Communication
  • Life transitions
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and difficult experiences
  • Personal growth
  • Resilience
  • Family and interpersonal challenges
  • Motivation and behavioral patterns
  • Finding direction and purpose

Our approach focuses not only on what's wrong, but also on identifying strengths, developing healthy connections, and building practical skills for navigating life's challenges.

Absolutely.

Faith can be incorporated into counseling when requested by the client.

A simple way to think about it is:

Counseling focuses on mental health, emotional concerns, psychological patterns, relationships, and other issues that may benefit from professional mental health treatment.

Coaching generally focuses on goals, habits, accountability, personal development, wellness, and moving forward.

Sometimes the answer isn't immediately obvious. That's one reason an initial conversation can be helpful.
